How would one start to compose a mori boy wardrobe. Like where would you recommend shopping.

I don’t know any store or brand that would fit specifically the mori style. But, I would suggest to look at zara first. They always run a small collection in earth tones. I really like the opening ceremony webshop too. They have a ton of designers but the prices are a bit high…

IMO, the keys to the mori look are the proportions and the color palette. Here’s an example of the perfect silhouette: http://www.style-arena.jp/street/individual/dt/4422 You can see how the pants are large, the top is fitted and the overcoat is roomy but with perfect shoulders. And for the colors: beige, grey, brown, burgundy, blue.

i actually see little to no fur with this style when it comes to male mori. if anything, mori girls use fur a lot more.

yeah, it’s kinda true. If I remember correctly, I think that fur was quite popular 1 or 2 years ago in harajuku.

I just wanted to know, how could be possible a boy call himself "mori" if they support animal torture and use its fur as clothing? Don't they know "mori" means "Florest" and to live in a florest means live peacefully with it? In harmony and balance, what means NO killing animals for fashion purposes? I love your tumblr, but pisses me off to see a mommy spoiled cityboy using fur as clothing, taking his photos close to a city monument with his shinny new tech-full camera... and call himself "morib

Hi. First of all, I want to get to the basis of everything. The mori boy thing is not a real trend, nor a group of people or community. It’s nothing, really. It’s just a term that other people and I have been using to basically describe some boys and men who dress with earth tones and ample silhouettes with lots of layers. I always loved the mori girl look and I saw a similarity with some streetstyle pictures that I saw on japanese blogs and magazines, so I named this blog “mori boy”. But there’s no rules, no values, nothing. That’s my interpretation, maybe other people will have another one, I dont’ know.

So, IMO, because there’s no community and no “values”, if you want, you can wear fur. It does not contradict anything, because there’s nothing to be contradicting. And about the mommy spoiled cityboy, I don’t understand how you can see with only pictures and no branding at all, that the guys in the streetstyle photos are spoiled kids… And for your information, the vast majority of the pictures are not autoportraits, but taken from streetstyle blogs, magazines, ads and runways.

And just in case, I’m sorry if I offended you because I put the “mori” term on something that is not completely related to the mori lifestyle.
